By Adriana Noton

Toronto restaurants run the gambit from expensive and elegant to budget and eat on the run. They are truly an international city with representation of cuisines from many parts of the world including Italian, Asian, Greek, and their own Canadian style of cooking. There are steakhouses and burger joints giving patrons a little bit of everything for a variety of prices. If you enjoy food, then Toronto is the place to be.

Look up in the sky to find one of the most popular more expensive restaurants in town that revolves to give guests a magnificent view of the city from the CN tower. This is Restaurant 360 where over 550 international wines are available and the menu is enticing and elegant. Restaurant 360 has gained notoriety by winning awards for its menu items but the more popular reason for visiting is the view from 114 stories above the harbor. You must have reservations to get into the restaurant and expect dinner to cost about C$75 and a bit more with the wine.

Splendito Restaurant and Truffles are two other restaurants in the same prices range. Look for Splendito in the Distillery District where you will find the menu changes with the season and has many modern Mediterranean dishes. For those who are budgeting, remember to factor in taxes. Toronto imposes three different taxes on food consumed in a restaurant that will not be included in the menu price. They are added on to the bill after you eat. They include the 8% provincial sales tax, 10% alcohol tax, and the 5% federal goods and services tax. Irregardless you can find exactly the type of food you want to satisfy in Toronto. The restaurants above are a minuscule sampling of what is available in Toronto and you only have to go to the city and explore to find many more. - 30543

Sushi Bar Offers Different Types Of Sushi

By Ingrid Preube

For those who like international cuisine, a sushi bar is one of the places that must be visited. Unlike a standard restaurant, a sushi bar is very comparable to a modern bar or tavern in the western cultures.

Meant for group socialization and finger meal, a sushi bar allows for good meal to be served without it taking up space. With entertainment, be it shows, television or sports, the sushi bar blends western and eastern cultures.

Japanese sushi bars are very unlike from the sushi bar working in United States or Canada. Japanese sushi bar usually works like a fast meal hotel, where sushi feasts are running over a conveyor and picked up by the costumers. The cost of the sushi may be various with respect to the size of the platters and customers pay it after selecting their sushi.

In western settings a sushi bar is just another grill or a regular bar or a closer example might be sushi restaurants themselves. In United States or Canada few sushi bars tender previously prepared sushi feasts you just need to pick and pay.

If you are a admirer of the sushi bar in American, you may get a surprise if you were to go to one in Japan. Where Americanized sushi is readily available in the sushi bars in the United States, bars in Japan are more traditional. This means there are less vegetarian friendly dishes, and more true forms of sushi. Octopus, squid and other seameal is used as elements, which often disgusts those not used to these elements in sushi.

The major dissimilarity in sushi restaurant and sushi bar is seating arrangement and the way in which they work. Lots of people regard sushi bars inexpensive and faster than the sushi restaurants. That is why sushi bars usually preferred only for delivery or take out and their sushi dishes are inferior to the sushi dishes which are available at standard sushi restaurants.

Lots of condiments are available with sushi dishes at sushi bars and you can opt any of them according to your taste. Mostly, soy sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger are there at your disposal.

Ocha is the most common drink served with sushi, a traditional green tea. In American, sake or ocha is served. The higher the quality of restaurant, the more likely sake is to be given as an alternative. In Japan, mecha is a high quality green tea that is preferred over ocha. - 30543

Think of Different Ways to Promote Your Restaurant

By Jose L Riesco

There are so many different ways to promote your restaurant, what are you waiting for? Engaging in a public relations campaign, an advertising campaign or a direct marketing campaign can all be fun if you remember that the concept of eating out is supposed to be a great social occasion. Don't look at this as a chore, but rather as one of the most pleasant jobs associated with running your business.

You have probably built up a good relationship with certain customers over time and if you feel that you know some that are particularly loyal then you could get them to help you promote your restaurant. Ask them to contribute posts which you can put on your blog, write reviews, be active on their Facebook pages, for example. Not only can this be a great "word-of-mouth" exercise, but it can be very cost effective, for just the cost of an odd appetizer here or there.

Whenever you come across a prospective customer, you should do everything you can to get the e-mail details. Be prepared to give them something that they value in return for this information and remember that e-mail marketing is one of the top ways to promote your restaurant. Once they have agreed to receive information from you, the sky is the limit.

Once you're able to get information about potential clients and hopefully their birthdays, consider setting up what is known as an autoresponder system. This system is designed to send out e-mails in advance of special dates which you specify and in this case you might offer a free meal to the birthday person. Almost always they will come in to the restaurant with another group of people, anyway.

Think about themes. Do a little research online and you will find out that there are special occasions, holidays, "gimmick" days, religious days - some special occasion every week. If you are creative, you will come up with ideas to link your restaurant, a menu item or some copromotion to create interest in the neighborhood.

Promote your restaurant with a PR campaign, especially if you are launching a new menu, welcoming a new master chef or engaging in a charitable affair of some kind. Press release distribution is relatively straightforward and cost effective these days and will invariably result in exposure for you if well presented.

Consider how many local newspapers, radio stations or other media outlets you have in your location. Pick up a copy of the publication or tune into the radio station as appropriate. If you cannot see any evidence of a food critic or a restaurant expert, it is time for you to really promote your restaurant by getting in touch with the editor and offering your services for free. Take time to show him or her that you are an expert in your field and they will turn to you for any food related questions or news items that they have.

In terms of Internet marketing, social media is at the forefront of any concept that you should explore. Make a Facebook page for your restaurant and start getting people to sign up, devise and maintain a meaningful blog with information that others would be interested in. - 30543
